Job summary

The City of North Myrtle Beach is seeking a seasoned Codes Enforcement Manager to plan and oversee the codes enforcement division within the Planning & Development Department. You will supervise inspectors, approve permits, and coordinate plan reviews to ensure compliance with adopted building codes.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field, 8 years of Building Inspector experience with 4 years in leadership, and holds a Building Official

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent.
• Eight years of Building Inspector experience with four years in leadership.

Responsibilities

• Plans and manages codes enforcement activities and personnel.
• Supervises inspectors, approves permits, and coordinates plan reviews.
• Maintains flood plain management program and CRS compliance.
• Maintains departmental computer network and related software.
• Prepares reports and liaises with contractors, engineers, and agencies.
• Ensures adherence to adopted building codes and ordinances.
