Job summary

Aoka is seeking a Certified Building Official (CBO) to lead a team of building inspectors in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The role includes supervising inspections, enforcing building codes, and acting as a subject matter expert to support the sales team.

You will oversee permits, plan approvals, and reports while coordinating with multiple municipal departments. Ideal candidates have ICC-CBO certification and 5–7 years of progressive building inspection experience, with strong leadership,

ICC Certified Building Official (CBO) required.
5–7 years of progressive experience in building inspection.

Responsibilities

Supervise building inspectors and manage inspection programs.
Serve as SME supporting the sales team.
Conduct client visits for complex or escalated projects.
Administer and enforce municipal, state, and federal codes, permits, and inspection reporting.
Interpret complex codes and provide guidance to architects, engineers, contractors, and owners.
Collaborate with fire, planning, zoning, engineering, and public works departments for enforcement.
Manage appeals, code updates, and ordinance revisions.
Maintain records and prepare reports on inspections and permitting.
