Job summary

ManpowerGroup in New York, NY seeks a Building Superintendent to join the Facilities & Property Operations Team. You will lead maintenance activities, supervise vendors, and coordinate service requests to keep occupants comfortable and operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of commercial/industrial maintenance, strong HVAC knowledge, and a proven supervisory background. Monday–Friday, potential permanent placement, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year college degree or technical/vocational degree/certification desired.
• FSD Certified.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial or residential maintenance, repair, or equipment servicing, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• License requirements: F-89 / S-12 / S-13 / A-35 / F-60 / P-99.
• Strong HVAC background and general knowledge of construction trade types, plus inspection experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site and facility inspections to determine service needs, equipment requirements, and staffing needs.
• Prioritize work and coordinate maintenance requests; perform some repairs when needed.
• Develop and oversee a preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
• Supervise contractors/vendors and oversee day-to-day maintenance and janitorial activities.
• Maintain records for labor and materials, support budget tracking, and provide cost reports.

Our client, a property management and facilities services organization, is seeking a to join their team. As a Building Superintendent, you will be part of the Facilities & Property Operations Team supporting Property Management, Maintenance Staff, Building Occupants, Vendors, and Contractors. The ideal candidate will have leadership skills, strong communication abilities, and excellent organizational skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: New York, NY

Pay Range:$33 per hour

What's the Job?

• Conduct site and facility inspections to determine the need and extent of service, equipment requirements, and staffing needs for operation and maintenance.
• Prioritize work to ensure building occupants’ needs are met in a timely manner; assign and coordinate work requests for maintenance, servicing, and repairs (and perform some repairs when needed).
• Develop, implement, and oversee a preventive maintenance program for facilities and equipment to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
• Supervise and coordinate contractors/vendors and oversee day-to-day maintenance and janitorial activities for the property.
• Maintain accurate records for labor and materials, support budget tracking, and provide cost reports to the owner or managing agents.

What's Needed?

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year college degree or technical/vocational degree/certification desired.
• FSD Certified.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial or residential maintenance, repair, or equipment servicing, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience.

• Strong HVAC background and general knowledge of construction trade types (carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, mechanical, etc.), plus experience conducting inspections and correcting deficiencies.
