The City of Plano's Building Inspections Department is seeking a Building Inspector to join our team. You will perform plan reviews and on-site inspections to ensure code compliance for a variety of development projects.

A Texas Plumbing Inspector license is preferred but not required; the role offers 7:00am–3:30pm hours, a rotating on-call schedule every five weeks including nights, weekends, and holidays, and full-time benefits with TMRS and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• A Texas Plumbing Inspector license is preferred, but not required.
• ICC accreditation background is beneficial.
• Open to Building Inspector or Senior Building Inspector level depending on qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings to verify code compliance and safety.
• Coordinate with inspections team for diverse development projects.
• Be on rotating on-call list including nights, weekends and holidays.
