Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years of experience inspecting construction projects or five years in the construction industry.
• Certification as a combination inspector in both residential and commercial in all four ICC areas: building, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical.
• Accessibility Plans Examiner certification in ANSI A117.1 within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Inspects construction for code compliance.
• Reviews plans for code compliance.
• Participates in office operations.
• Investigates complaints.
• Attends meetings as directed by the Chief Building Official.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
