Job summary

Draper City is seeking a Building Inspector II to perform on-site inspections and review construction plans for compliance with city, state, and federal codes. This role ensures all construction meets adopted codes and standards and supports office operations as needed.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, Utah licensure for inspections, and relevant combination inspector certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification as a combination inspector in residential or commercial within 18 months from date of hire.
• Utah driver’s license and state inspection licensure required.
• Two years of inspection or construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction for code compliance.
• Review plans for code compliance.
• Participate in office operations.
• Investigate complaints.
• Attend meetings with the Chief Building Official.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
