Job summary

City of Moses Lake seeks a Deputy Building Official/Deputy Fire Marshal to assist in managing the Building Program within the Community Development Department. This role supports building inspection, permitting, code enforcement, fire prevention, and fire plan review for complex residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

You will provide supervisory leadership, technical expertise, and cross-department coordination to ensure compliance with building, fire, zoning, and life safety codes

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of building and fire codes and NFPA standards.
• Experience with plan review, inspections, and code enforcement.
• Strong supervisory and cross-department collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee building and fire code enforcement activities and inspections.
• Review complex construction plans for compliance with codes.
• Provide technical interpretations and train staff.
