Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Strong customer service orientation and the ability to professionally respond to tenant requests.
• 5 years' experience assisting Chief Engineer and/or Chief Engineer.
• EPA CFC Universal Certification Technician Certificate.
• Maintenance Electrician License or Apprentice Electrician License preferred.
• Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Mentor engineering and maintenance staff with the Chief Engineer.
• Ensure the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in preparing operating and capital budgets, adhering to approved budgets.
• Support Parkway's training programs and staff development opportunities.
• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for building systems.
• Assist in developing emergency response plans to protect occupants and minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes through regular inspections.
• Oversee engineering projects, manage contractors and vendors, and ensure quality & budget compliance.
• Review daily work orders, assign tasks, and monitor repeat problems.
• Perform maintenance tasks using basic hand tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain operation logs and inspect equipment to ensure functionality.
• Formulate preventive maintenance programs to meet design life.
• Inspect fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to meet tenant specs.
• Estimate time/materials for repairs and manage inventories.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance with the Chief Engineer to minimize downtime.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and provide additional support as needed.
• Maintain energy management programs to minimize operating costs.
