Job summary

HDR seeks an Electrical Engineer to join our employee-owned team in Phoenix, AZ. The role coordinates the electrical design for large institutional and industrial projects, collaborates with site visits, and ensures code compliance across design phases.

We value guidance for less-experienced staff, mentoring, and a proactive approach to sustainable and high-quality building systems. PE license and software proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Requires a professional engineering license (PE/P.Eng) recognized by the licensing board for the location.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work of the electrical design team on large institutional/industrial projects through schematic design development and contract document phase.
• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Coordinate workload to complete the document on schedule.
• Conduct work sessions at the project site with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Review electrical documents for interactions with other disciplines.
• Write/edit electrical specifications and select equipment, systems, and devices.
• Coordinate with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders and incorporate changes into documents.
• Provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of others.
• Provide mentoring and oversight for less-experienced staff on projects including Federal, Laboratory, Higher Education, and Data Center & Semiconductor.
• Perform other duties as needed.
