Job summary

The Building People is seeking a Senior Building Controls Technician to support expansion, upgrade or replacement of building automation hardware and software for smart building infrastructure.

The role works independently with limited supervision, programming, configuring, and testing Direct Digital Control systems. Travel may reach 25%; team collaboration with engineers is essential; and training owners or supervising subcontractors may be required.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience with programming, startup and commissioning of control systems.
• Strong knowledge of DDC control for HVAC equipment and systems.
• Ability to read plans and contract documents; travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer control system hardware and software programming per project plans.
• Program projects with varying complexity and perform testing and commissioning.
• Collaborate with engineering on configuration, graphics, sequences, and integrations.
• Train owners and supervise subcontractors as needed.
