Job summary

The Building People, LLC seeks a Senior Building Controls Technician to lead programming, commissioning, and testing of building automation systems. The role supports expansion, upgrade, or replacement projects and works with limited supervision to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities include engineering control software, configuring sequences, and collaborating with the engineering team. Travel up to 25% and on-site work are required.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience with programming, startup and commissioning of control systems.
• Niagara N4 certification is required.
• Experience with multiple manufacturers of controls is a plus.
• Technical knowledge with installation of controls equipment and ancillary devices.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer control system hardware and software programming based on project plans, specifications, and other contract documents
• Program projects with varying levels of complexity
• Troubleshoot networks, databases, and repair programming
• Collaborate with engineering on system configuration, network and software requirements
• Develop and configure sequences of operations, programming, graphics, database, network, and integrations
• Maintain project documentation and redlines
• Provide owner training as required
• Execute system commissioning and functional testing
• Assist in installation of control hardware
• Startup and commission new hardware installations
• Provide project management assistance and interface with customers
• Supervise sub-contractors and suppliers
• Educate lower-level technicians on the job
