Job summary

The Building People, LLC is seeking a Senior Building Controls Technician to design, program, test and commission building automation systems for smart building infrastructure. The role requires independent work to meet project requirements and extensive experience with DDC controls and Niagara N4 certification.

You will program and configure control systems, troubleshoot networks, and collaborate with engineers while providing owner training and field support. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in programming, startup and commissioning of control systems
• Niagara N4 certification held
• Experience with multiple control manufacturers is a plus
• Technical knowledge for installation of controls equipment and ancillary devices

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer control system hardware and software programming from project plans and specs
• Program projects with varying complexity
• Perform network and database troubleshooting and repair programming
• Collaborate with engineering team on configuration, graphics, sequences and operations
• Develop and configure sequences, graphics, database, network and third-party integrations
• Maintain thorough project documentation and redlines
• Provide owner training as required
• Commission and test systems
• Assist in installation of control hardware and startup/commission
• Provide project management assistance and interface with customers
• Supervise subcontractors and suppliers
• Mentor junior technicians
• Travel up to 25%
