Job summary

Sterling Engineering is seeking an experienced Commissioning Provider / Project Manager for commercial building projects in Orlando. You will evaluate building systems, perform functional testing, identify deficiencies, and coordinate with contractors, engineers, and owners to ensure systems operate as intended.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on Cx/EBCx experience, strong HVAC and BAS knowledge, and the ability to manage commissioning activities and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial building commissioning (Cx) and/or existing building commissioning (EBCx).
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical systems, and building automation systems (BAS).
• Experience conducting Functional Performance Testing (FPT).
• Hands‑on with field inspections, troubleshooting, and deficiency tracking.
• Ability to prepare commissioning documentation, technical reports, and test results.

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning and existing building commissioning (Cx/EBCx) activities for commercial buildings and facilities.
• Conduct field inspections, functional performance testing, and system evaluations to verify proper operation and performance.
• Assess HVAC, mechanical, and building automation systems to identify operational issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Troubleshoot system deficiencies, document findings, and track corrective actions through resolution.
• Prepare commissioning plans, test procedures, reports, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with contractors, design engineers, facility teams, and building owners.
• Review system performance and verify that equipment and building systems meet project requirements.
• Support project coordination and communicate commissioning progress, outstanding issues, and recommendations to stakeholders.
