Job summary

The Building People is seeking a Senior Building Controls Technician to design, program, and test building automation for smart building infrastructure. The role involves independent work to meet project requirements, with extensive debugging and integration tasks across DDC systems.

Requirements include 3+ years in programming, startup, and commissioning of control systems, plus Niagara N4 certification. Travel up to 25% and strong communication with clients are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of programming, startup and commissioning of control systems.
• Niagara N4 certification required.
• Experience with multiple manufacturers of controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer control system hardware and software programming per project plans.
• Program projects with various levels of complexity.
• Troubleshoot networks, databases, and repair programming.
• Collaborate with engineering on system configuration and graphics; sequences of operations.
• Develop sequences of operations and integrations into third party systems.
• Maintain project documentation and redlines.
• Provide owner training as required.
• Perform system commissioning and functional testing.
• Assist in installation of control hardware and startup new hardware installations.
• Provide project management assistance and interface with customers.
• Supervise subcontractors and suppliers; educate junior technicians.
