Job summary

Haynes Mechanical Systems is a Colorado-based HVAC and building automation leader with 58 years of history. The role focuses on installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting building automation; you will support field teams and subcontractors while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualified candidates bring 5+ years in HVAC controls, BAS programming, and strong communication skills to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years HVAC Controls database integrations and sub-system experience.
• Tridium Niagara, Distech, or similar BAS programming and/or troubleshooting experience (Niagara certification a plus).
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems (Boilers, Chillers, RTUs, AHUs, VAVs) and building automation control, with ability to configure and commission controls
• Understanding of communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, Lon) and ability to troubleshoot them
• Ability to communicate technical material to non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Accountable to Team Leader for quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs; participate in engineering release meetings.
• Responsible for total system point-to-point operation and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot system problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
• Work with multiple control devices and third-party devices into Niagara.
• Perform software programming with support from Team Lead.
• Configure customer operator workstations and required software (data, trends, alarms, graphics).
• Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
• Review customers’ systems and identify improvement areas and issues.
• Complete commissioning documentation and provide information for as-builts.
• Conduct site-specific training for owners/operators and turnover to service.
• Engage in self-study to improve technical proficiency.
