Job summary

Mesa Energy Systems, Inc. is a full-service HVAC and building automation contractor seeking a seasoned controls engineer.

You will lead start-ups, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of BAS controls and mechanical systems on diverse projects, ensuring alignment with the contracted scope. The role requires deep expertise in Niagara AX/N4, Direct Digital Controls, and HVAC systems, with strong networking and communication skills to coordinate with IT and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience.
• 8+ years of direct automation experience with control system architecture design and programming.
• 6+ years of experience with Niagara AX/N4, Distech, Delta, or similar systems.
• Knowledge of Direct Digital Controls, BACnet, MODbus, Tridium, Schneider, and Delta required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Executes project start-ups, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of installed BAS controls and mechanical systems on assigned projects.
• Participates in the layout and coordination of network drops, IP addresses and monitoring tools with customer's IT Department personnel.
• Runs complex reports to analyze system operation, works with project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work.
• Develop written sequence of operation based on mechanical drawings.
• Understand the design and intent of mechanical equipment and systems such as Chiller, Boiler, Custom AHU’s, Primary/Secondary pumping, Variable flow Chilled water plants, Clean Room Applications, Demand Response, and Energy solutions.
