Job summary

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Build Tooling Software team in New York. You will develop and support mission-critical infrastructure, tools, and shared libraries used by thousands of engineers to accelerate delivery.

You will work hands-on with build, release, deployment, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, containers, and developer tooling, collaborating with application teams to improve the software delivery experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, C, C#, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with Bash/PowerShell scripting.
• Understanding of modern SDLCs and workflows including Scrum, Kanban, GitOps, monorepos, microservices, and feature flagging.
• Experience with version-controlled environments and CI/CD workflows.
• Proficiency setting up and maintaining pipelines with GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Jenkins, Argo, or SonarQube.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux systems and security basics.
• Hands-on experience with AWS core services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch).
• Experience building and debugging Dockerized applications and container orchestration with Kubernetes and Helm.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with AI development tooling in the SDLC.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.

• Build and maintain software that abstracts build, release, and deployment events for broad use.
• Improve the development and delivery experience for thousands of developers.
• Work with application teams to identify needs and implement CI/CD best practices.
• Lead development of critical features and ensure solutions meet user requirements.
• Support critical build and artifact storage systems across the organization.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in tooling, build, and delivery processes.
