Job summary

OpenText is seeking a Senior Software Developer specializing in Build Engineering and DevOps to own and modernize the build infrastructure for a large, mature C++ product across Windows, Linux, IBM AIX, and IBM z/OS. The role blends hands-on development with build-system architecture, CI/CD automation, and supply-chain engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, information systems or related fields.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience developing solutions.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++, Java, or Python.
• Flexibility to move across different languages, technologies, and frameworks.
• Proven history of learning and implementing new technologies under pressure.
• Strong knowledge of compilers, linkers, libraries, dependency management and native build toolchains.
• Experience with build systems such as CMake, Make, Ninja, MSBuild, or similar.
• Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD, or comparable platforms.
• Strong Windows and Linux development experience.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex build, dependence, and infrastructure problems.

Responsibilities

• Own and modernize the build infrastructure across Windows, Linux, AIX, and z/OS.
• Modernize build tooling (CMake, Make, MSBuild) and reduce legacy complexity.
• Own CI/CD pipelines; automate compilation, testing, packaging, artifact creation, and release processes.
• Improve developer productivity by making builds reproducible and easier to run locally or in CI.
• Advance build infrastructure with containerization and reproducible environments for AIX and z/OS.
• Integrate software supply‑chain practices including dependency management and SBOM generation.
