Job summary

Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI seeks a Senior Analyst Budget Management to support development of the university's general and auxiliary fund budgets, manage position control, benefit rate development, and forecasting.

Under limited supervision you will coordinate budget transactions in Banner, prepare annual budget documentation, and provide reporting for internal and external use, ensuring data integrity and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field or 8 years direct experience in planning, budget analysis and administration.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in budget analysis and budget preparation or accounting; higher education experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing the University's operating and auxiliary budgets.
• Detail annual operating base in line with budget guidelines.
• Prepare annual budget documentation.
• Maintain position control for non-faculty staff and related ad-hoc reporting.
• Process budget transactions in Banner and ensure data quality.
• Monitor budgets for compliance with authorization.
• Assist in State of Michigan budget requests and financial reporting.
• Maintain web content with quality budget data and compliance information.
• Support bargaining processes and understand varied financial demands from contracts.
• Draft budget policy recommendations and procedures; assist in new systems implementation.
• Create reports from Banner data for management needs and train staff.
