Texas Department of Public Safety (THP) is seeking a senior-level budget analyst to support complex budget preparation and analysis. The role involves coordinating budgetary activities, reviewing operating budgets, and providing expert financial guidance to THP leadership.

The position requires extensive knowledge of budget processes, regulatory frameworks, and strong communication skills to present findings to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum of two years' experience in financial analysis or regulatory work.
• Substitution: related work experience or education may substitute for one another.

Responsabilités

• Oversee development and evaluation of performance and workload measures.
• Coordinate budgeting procedures, preparation, and reporting with Finance.
• Develop budget policies and procedures for THP Headquarters and Field Offices.
• Examine operating budgets to verify appropriate fund allocation.
• Provide advice on financial planning and management to THP leadership.
• Prepare legislative appropriations requests and agency budget instructions.
• Prepare fiscal notes and analyses of legislation for THP.
