Job summary

Fulton County Department of Finance seeks a seasoned financial manager to oversee budgeting, accounting and financial administration for county operations. You will supervise staff, develop budgets across funds, and report to senior leadership.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and six years of relevant experience, including three years in supervision; a Georgia driver license is preferred or required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or public administration required.
• Six years of experience in budgeting, accounting, auditing and financial administration, including three years in supervision.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates staff; participates in hiring and performance appraisals.
• Interprets budget directives and establishes policies for budget execution.
• Compiles and analyzes accounting data; develops operating budgets and manages capital budgets.
• Monitors revenues and expenditures; coordinates budget development and year-end closing.
• Prepares regular and special budget reports; provides information on financial and budgeting issues.
• Consults with staff to ensure budget adjustments align with program changes.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in government budgeting.
