Job summary

The State of Iowa's Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Compliance and Administration, is seeking a Budget Analyst 3 in Des Moines to develop and monitor annual budgets and provide financial oversight for assigned programs.

You will prepare budgets, projections, and financial reports, and analyze fiscal actions with program staff. Telework may be available after six months, with a standard Monday–Friday schedule at the Lucas building.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• Three years of full-time budget analysis or fiscal management experience.
• Master's degree (MBA/MPA) plus two years of budget analysis experience.
• One year of experience as Budget Analyst 2 in the state executive branch.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor annual budgets and provide financial oversight.
• Prepare annual budgets and monthly or periodic financial projections.
• Produce federal financial reports and financial impact analyses.
• Maintain documentation and forecast cost impacts in collaboration with program staff.
