Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Hillsboro, OR is seeking an experienced BSP (Kernel / QNX) Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain Kernel and QNX software for embedded and In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) platforms.

The engineer will work closely with hardware, platform software, Android, system integration, and validation teams to enable QNX-based platform functionality from bootloader through operating system and device driver layers.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing, integrating, testing and maintaining BSP with QNX and Linux
• Collaborate with hardware, Android, system integration and validation teams
• Familiarity with bootload through OS and device drivers
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in embedded environments
• Experience in embedded systems and real-time OS environments
• Knowledge of Ethernet, USB, UART, SPI, I2C interfaces
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices

Responsibilities

• Develop and test high-quality embedded software applications from functional specifications.
• Design, develop, integrate, debug, and maintain QNX and Linux platform software.
• Develop and support Linux kernel and device drivers.
• Perform board bring-up, platform enablement, and hardware integration activities.
• Optimize system performance, memory utilization, stability, and reliability.
• Work on boot processes, startup flows, and operating system bring-up.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile/DevOps environments.
• Create and execute test plans, functional tests, regression tests, and performance benchmarks.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, design reviews, code reviews, and release activities.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and continuous integration processes.
