Qualifications

• Deep expertise in a browser engine subsystem with substantial changes.
• Proficiency in C++ or Rust in large systems with performance debugging.
• Ability to explore unfamiliar code, form hypotheses and prototype results.
• Strong understanding of web platform behavior and compatibility.
• Experience with profiling, tracing, and regression tests using reproducible evidence.
• Curiosity about AI agents and coding tools related to AI.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement experiments within browser engine subsystems.
• Investigate the impact of internal data structures on performance and correctness.
• Evaluate efficient representations of browser state, considering tradeoffs.
• Prototype capabilities for programmatic interaction with web content.
• Instrument browser behavior and measure changes against repeatable tasks.
• Profile overhead from new capabilities and pursue performance improvements.
• Utilize AI tools for coding and analysis, verifying outputs through testing.
