Qualifications

  • 2+ years of financial lines insurance brokerage and/or underwriting experience with a concentration on Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Practices, Fiduciary, Crime and Special Risk.

  • Client-facing skills including effective presentations & communications.
  • Must maintain appropriate broker’s license.

Currently we have an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Broker within Aon Commercial Risk Solutions’ Financial Services Group ("FSG").

This Broker role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic risk management solutions for large, global clients. This includes the design, marketing and service management of insurance programs in numerous industry sectors. This individual should have proven peer market relationships and emerging senior market relationships.

This opportunity is a hybrid role to work from our New York, NY office.

What the day will look like
  • Responsible for assessing client needs, designing solutions and negotiating with insurance carriers to obtain coverage that is in a client’s best interests.
  • Professional who develops and manages client relationships, account strategies and insurance marketing activities for book of business. Acts as the primary negotiator in obtaining the most effective insurance programs to address client needs.
  • Works closely with Team Leaders, Producers, Account Executives and other client facing team members to understand and deliver on client’s needs.
  • Identifies and analyzes client exposures with routine assistance of junior team members to develop effective client risk treatment and placement strategies.
  • Obtains the most appropriate program coverage based upon client objectives by developing and executing, in conjunction with the client, an agreed upon structure and strategy.
  • Serves as a source of information concerning market trends, pricing practices and other underwriting policies. May participate in development of department policies and procedures and implements them in assigned areas.
  • Provides guidance to more junior staff
  • Directs the overall development and growth of personal book of business and assists in the development of the team members. Capable of working on complex accounts with autonomy. Support team in the solicitation and servicing of clients and the broking of their insurance programs. Advising, placing and servicing mid-size accounts with minimal direct supervision for own portfolio of clients. Skilled evaluation and examination of insurance policies and assessment of needs are conducted with minimal direct supervision.

The broker will be instrumental in the analysis of clients’ exposures to identify and mitigate risk as well as responsible for the coordination of the placement and day-to-day activities on accounts.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of financial lines insurance brokerage and/or underwriting experience with a concentration on Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Practices, Fiduciary, Crime and Special Risk.
  • Solid understanding of carrier underwriting practices & processes.
  • Validated leadership skills in working with teams and ability to work with clients and to successfully exceed client expectations.
  • Confirmed client-facing skills including effective presentations & communications.
  • Proven organization and capacity to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Experience in resource deployment and utilization management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various levels.
  • Successfully operates in a fast-paced driven environment that requires the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
  • Sales experience preferred and finance background a plus.
  • Must maintain appropriate broker’s license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent years of proven experience.
Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $$88,780 - $115,460 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

For positions in San Francisco and Los Angeles, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction record in accordance with local Fair Chance ordinances.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus production incentives in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
