Job summary

FOX News Media is seeking a Senior Staff Broadcast Network Engineer in New York to design, implement, and administer highly resilient networks supporting live broadcast workflows. You will collaborate with Broadcast teams and other groups to deliver real-time media solutions and ensure performance at scale.

The role focuses on deploying cutting-edge technologies, coordinating with SDN, and mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

• Design and implementation of large‑scale mission‑critical networks.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and deliver innovative solutions.
• Knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110 standards.
• 10+ years of experience with large networks.
• Hands-on with Arista, Cisco, and Palo Alto devices.
• Willingness to teach and train others.

Responsibilities

• Gathering and assessing current network configuration, identifying risks, and proposing alternative solutions.
• Design and implement new technologies that simplify the network environment while improving security and performance.
• Work with the SDN team to design networking solutions capable of transporting live content (uncompressed) over dedicated high-bandwidth IP networks.
• Manage projects and report progress to management and team members.
• Collaborate with outside vendors to successfully test and integrate new technology.
• Network capacity planning, performance assessment, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization to troubleshoot service-impacting issues.
• Track, report, and proactively deploy firmware/software updates on switching equipment when needed.
• Create and maintain up‑to-date documentation of the network environment detailing the configuration of deployed solutions.
