Job summary

FOX4 (WDAF-TV) is seeking a hands-on broadcast engineer to keep our television plant on the air and help shape the next generation of delivery including streaming. You will work with the Chief Engineer across studio, control room, and master control systems and play a key role in expanding connected TV capabilities.

The role emphasizes broadcast IT as it relates to the plant, with opportunities to influence equipment, workflow, and reliability during live operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on broadcast or live production technical experience.
• Three+ years in broadcast engineering or live production technology.
• Working comfort with Windows systems and basic networking.
• Ability to stay composed during live television and triage repairs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely in studios and racks.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain studio, control room, and master control systems.
• Trace and manage signal flow across a large SDI plant; monitor and route video/audio.
• Support live news production including automation, switchers, graphics, and audio consoles.
• Develop clear documentation on system wiring and repair procedures.
• Maintain broadcast-attached servers, workstations, shared storage, and backups with IT.
• Assist with transmitter and tower site maintenance under Chief Engineer.
