Job summary

The Walt Disney Company in Bristol, CT seeks a Sr. Media Systems Engineer to advance Disney’s broadcast and cloud-based production infrastructure.

This onsite role sits in Bristol four days a week and focuses on end-to-end design, deployment, and modernization of playout, control rooms, and media workflows. You will lead technical implementations, coordinate facility upgrades, and collaborate with vendors to deliver scalable, high‑quality content distribution, with a strong background in

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years broadcast engineering experience.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or comparable field of study and/or equivalent work experience.
Strong understanding of baseband/IP video, audio and digital compression, transport systems, audio/video encoding/transcoding techniques and formats.
Knowledge of file transfer acceleration technologies and techniques.

Responsibilities

Responsible and play lead role for technical implementation of traditional broadcast production systems and cloud-based infrastructure.
Take lead role on projects to modernize legacy media production infrastructure and support advanced formats and standards.
Coordinate construction of facilities, upgrades and installation of equipment including core routing, intercom, playout, storage and automation systems.
Collaborate with management, vendors, and operations to assess facility needs and develop project plans and estimates.
