Apex Companies, LLC in the Pacific Northwest seeks an experienced Bridge and Structures Project Manager to lead transport structures projects, mentor staff, and deliver practical bridge designs. The role focuses on planning, client coordination, and discipline leadership across projects nationwide.

Candidates should hold a PE license with 8+ years of structural design experience, with Pacific Northwest experience preferred; knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and common design tools is essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible structural design experience.
• Pacific Northwest experience delivering state and local agency bridge or transportation design projects.
• Demonstrated task and project management experience; bridge project management experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (CSiBridge, LPILE, SAP2000, RISA-3D, etc.).
• Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and state bridge design manuals/codes.
• Ability to prepare and review calculations, plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate with clients and teams.
• Basic AutoCAD knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, manage, and perform bridge and structural engineering for transportation, industrial, and public works projects.
• Lead project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, staffing, and client coordination.
• Prepare and oversee structural calculations, plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
• Provide technical leadership for bridge design, rehabilitation, retrofit, and related works.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and agency criteria.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated services.
• Lead or support field investigations, structural condition assessments, and construction-phase services.
• Mentor and direct junior engineers and staff; support professional development.
• Support client management, proposals, and pursuit of new work.
