Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking an experienced Bridge and Structures Project Manager to lead bridge and transportation projects nationwide, with emphasis on the Pacific Northwest. You will mentor staff, manage scopes, and coordinate with clients, agencies, and contractors.

The role requires a PE license, 8+ years in structural design (concrete/steel/timber), and proficiency with major design tools. A collaborative environment and growth opportunities are offered, along with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible structural design experience (concrete, steel, timber).
• Pacific Northwest experience delivering state and local agency bridge/transportation design projects.
• Demonstrated task and project management experience; bridge PM preferred.
• Proficiency with structural analysis/design software: CSiBridge, LPILE, SAP2000, RISA-3D, or similar.
• Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and state bridge design manuals/codes.
• Ability to prepare/review calculations, plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Basic AutoCAD knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, manage, and perform bridge/structural engineering for transportation projects.
• Lead project delivery: scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, staffing, client coordination.
• Prepare/oversee structural calculations, plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Provide technical leadership for new bridge design, rehab, retrofit, culverts and walls.
• Ensure designs comply with codes and agency criteria (AASHTO, WSDOT, Oregon).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated services.
• Lead or support field investigations and construction-phase services.
• Mentor junior engineers; review work and support development.
• Support client management, proposals, and business development.
