Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is seeking a Bridge Maintenance Worker/Snow and Ice for the Twin Cities metro area. The role supports bridge maintenance and seasonal snow/ice tasks with a day shift (7:00AM - 3:30PM), Monday through Friday, across Mendota Heights, Plymouth, and Spring Lake Park.

Qualified candidates have 2 years of carpentry, concrete, or iron work experience, English proficiency, and a valid Class D license plus CDL permit with tanker endorsement.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical trades training or degree (e.g., carpentry, concrete/masonry, etc.) or equivalent may substitute for one year of experience.
• Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak, and understand information and communicate with others.
• Valid Class D Driver's License AND a Class A CDL Permit with no airbrake restriction AND a tanker endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Performs and maintains repairs and installations in steel fabrication and erection of bridges and structures to maintain safety.
• Performs concrete work for construction/repair of bridges ensuring proper placement, finishing, and curing.
• Performs carpentry duties related to bridges, buildings and structures to ensure safe construction and remodeling.
• Assists with safety inspections on bridges and structures and prepares surfaces for painting.
• Provide traffic control setup.
