Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a bridge and structural design leader to deliver projects from planning through construction. The role focuses on building and growing the Northern Virginia/DC presence, managing scope, schedule, and budget, and mentoring the bridge engineering staff.

The successful candidate will oversee project objectives, coordinate resources, and guide risk management while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with ABET accreditation.
• 10+ years of bridge and structural design experience.
• PE License.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and performance management for project teams.
• Deliver technical and structural engineering expertise across project lifecycle.
• Develop project management and quality plans; manage scope, schedule and budget.
• Manage subconsultants and collaborate with disciplines to maintain scope and fee.
• Prepare progress reports and monitor invoices.
• Support business development and client relations.
