Job summary

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.).
• Three years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience in a supervisory or project-charge role.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• On-site work; no remote option; U.S. work authorization required.
• Ability to interact with internal managers, executives and regulatory representatives.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee statewide bridge inspections per NBIS and NTIS standards.
• Direct and manage staff; set performance standards and evaluate.
• Develop bridge repair strategies and produce inspection reports.
• Represent the department at hearings and meetings; communicate policies.
• Assist in budget development and engage in finance/status meetings.
• Provide technical engineering assistance and testify in court as needed.
