Description
DRMP is a fast‑growing transportation engineering firm in the Southeast, seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer, P.E. to lead complex DOT bridge and infrastructure projects. Your Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop structural calculations and produce engineering drawings for both Design‑Bid‑Build and Design‑Build bridge and transport projects.
  • Perform and direct engineering alternatives investigations through data collection, analysis, and evaluation of alternate solutions.
  • Prepare written technical reports.
  • Support the construction phase of projects, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and problem solving.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science from an ABET‑accredited university in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer.
  • 10+ years of post‑registration structural engineering experience.
  • Complex structures design experience is a plus.
  • 15+ years of relevant bridge design and plans production experience, including reinforced concrete, prestressed/post‑tensioned concrete, steel plate and box girder bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, sign/signal structures, sound barrier walls, and other transportation structures.
  • Experience with bridge design software such as FB Multi‑Pier, Leap Bridge Concrete, Smartbridge, LARSA, CSI, STAAD, MDX, Shoring Suite, Atlas, and the FDOT MathCAD worksheets.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, GEOPAK, OpenBridge Modeler, AutoCAD and/or CAD platforms.
  • 3‑D modeling in OpenBridge Modeler is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
  • Ability to guide junior staff and participate in design and detailing of small‑to‑large‑scale multi‑discipline bridge projects.
  • Construction specialty engineering experience is a plus.
  • Post‑tensioning applications experience is a plus.
  • Straddle‑bent design experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and time‑management skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self‑initiative to meet client deadlines.
  • Detail‑oriented team player who contributes to a positive work environment.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s (MSE/MSCE) in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • PE and/or SE certification in Florida or ability to obtain Florida registration.
  • Familiarity with FDOT Structures Manual and FDOT Construction Specifications.
