Job summary

Wilson & Company in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a full-time bridge (structures) engineer to support our bridge team in the Omaha office. You will design and detail railroad and highway structures, mentor entry-level staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited), 7+ years of structural bridge experience (10+ preferred), and PE licensure or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering is required; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• 7+ years of structural engineering design experience for bridges and transportation structures; 10+ preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the state or able to obtain licensure within 6 months.
• Experience with plan development, analysis, design calculations for highway/rail structures; familiar with AASHTO and AREMA.
• Proficiency with Leap Bridge Concrete, MDX, MIDAS, Risa, Lpile, and Mathcad.

Job Title

Wilson & Company is seeking a full‑time bridge (structures) engineer to support our bridge team in our Omaha office.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail railroad and highway structures, including reinforced concrete, pre‑stressed concrete, steel, earth retaining systems, and drainage structures.
• Perform complex engineering tasks accurately, extract engineering information from CAD drawings, and develop drawings, specifications, and other procurement and construction materials.
• Lead the structural design of projects and mentor entry‑level staff in the production of construction drawings.
• Communicate effectively with entry‑level staff, senior staff, clients, and other offices to provide reports, updates, and collaboration across disciplines and locations.
• Work in a team environment and be available to meet with clients and pursue work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus) from an ABET‑accredited school.
• 7+ years of experience in structural engineering design for bridges, retaining walls, and other transportation structures; ideally 10+ years.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the state or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months.
• Experience in plan development, analysis and design calculations, quality control of highway and railroad structures, and familiarity with AASHTO and AREMA.
• Proficiency with structural design software such as Leap Bridge Concrete, MDX, MIDAS, Risa, Lpile, Mathcad and related programs.

Location & Compensation

Job Location: Omaha, Nebraska.

Annual Salary Range: $102,000 – $135,000 (depending on experience).
