Job summary

Collins Engineers, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated Complex Bridge Design Specialist to lead and manage bridge designs for infrastructure projects across the Western United States. You will mentor junior staff, coordinate design plans, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires 10+ years in bridge design, PE license, and strong experience with AASHTO LRFD and DOT guidelines. This is a high-impact, technically challenging position in Denver, CO with occasional work in other cities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required; master’s preferred.
• Professional engineer (P.E.) license is required; structural engineer (S.E.) certification preferred.
• 10+ years of bridge design experience, including 2+ years at Project Manager/EOR level.
• Experience working with DOTs or municipalities.
• Proficiency in industry-standard structural analysis and bridge design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review designs for bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Work independently and in teams with strong communication.
• Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution from concept to construction.
• Collaborate with clients to understand needs and provide design recommendations.
• Supervise staff as necessary; manage subcontractors and costs.
