Job summary

WSP in Waterbury, VT is seeking a Senior Bridge Construction Inspector to oversee replacement or rehabilitation projects with values up to $50 million. The role is based in Waterbury and reports to the Resident Engineer, overseeing excavation, concrete work, precast elements, bearings, joints, rail, drainage and related items.

You will mentor other inspectors, prepare daily reports, coordinate material testing, monitor traffic, capture progress with photos, and update red-line drawings using

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; 9 years relevant experience.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications.
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with health, safety and harassment policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee excavation, backfilling, compaction, cast-in-place concrete, precast elements, bridge seats, bearings, joints, rail and drainage.
• Coordinate independent material sampling and testing.
• Monitor maintenance of traffic and safety.
• Take and compile photographs to track daily progress.
• Update red-line drawings using Bluebeam.
• Report to the Resident Engineer and act as their representative when needed.
