Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Waterbury, VT is seeking a Senior Bridge Construction Inspector to oversee new, replacement, or rehabilitated structures with project values up to $50 million.

You will report to the Resident Engineer and coordinate with contractors on-site. You will monitor excavation, backfilling, concrete, precast elements, bearings, joints, and traffic control, while maintaining safety policies and generating daily reports to track progress.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 9 years applicable experience
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications
• Have a valid driver's license
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by safety policies

Responsibilities

• Interfacing with contactors and attending meetings.
• Mentoring or supervising other inspectors, on behalf of resident engineer or project manager.
• Complete daily reports, measure and calculate unit price quantities.
• Coordinate independent material sampling and testing.
• Monitor maintenance of traffic.
• Take and compile photographs for tracking of daily progress.
• Update red-line drawings using Bluebeam.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources.
