Job summary

Pelican Brewing Company in Tillamook, Oregon, is seeking a Head Brewer to lead the brewer/cellar team and coordinate daily operations, ensuring smooth production and compliance with safety standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive brewing leadership experience, a solid technical foundation in fermentation, and the ability to manage scheduling, audits, and staff development in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Brewing degree/certificate strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s of Science in fermentation, biology, engineering or other related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment; 7+ years brewing/distilling experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee wort production, cellaring, clarification, and maintenance.
• Manage staff scheduling to meet weekly production needs; ensure Just In Time production.
• Audit brewery processes to ensure quality and consistency with Pelican Brewing standards.
• Collaborate with QC to monitor fermentation health and analytics.
• Recruit, supervise and develop staff to meet goals; mentor technical staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of brew house and cellars.
