Brex is seeking a Staff brand designer to join its Design team in a hybrid setup with offices in San Francisco, Seattle or New York. The role focuses on evolving a scalable brand identity system and shaping visual language across touchpoints, collaborating with Marketing, Web, Product, and creative partners.

The candidate will drive design patterns and brand expressions for a next phase of growth, balancing strategic vision with hands-on craft as part of a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in brand design or art direction.
• Portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, system design, and high-quality execution across identities and campaigns.
• Deep expertise in typography, color, composition, and scalable visual systems.
• Strong ability to articulate design decisions and build alignment with cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders.
• Experience across multiple workstreams in fast-paced, evolving environments.
• Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, with comfort prototyping and iterating quickly.
• Practical experience using AI tools in the creative process with sound judgment on when and how to apply them.

Responsabilités

• Own and evolve Brex’s brand identity system, including visual language, typography, color, illustration, and brand patterns.
• Define and maintain brand standards that balance consistency with creative flexibility across teams and channels.
• Translate company strategy and brand vision into clear, compelling visual direction in partnership with leadership.
• Design and deliver new brand expressions that advance the identity while preserving recognition and equity.
• Lead high-impact brand work beyond the core system, including special campaigns, sub-brands, and select product or service launches.
• Art direct and contribute to brand campaigns, collaborating with external partners and internal teams to ensure exceptional craft.
• Provide guidance and feedback across the organization to raise the quality and effectiveness of brand execution.
