U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking reemployed annuitants for Border Patrol Agent roles across USBP sectors. This position starts at GS-13 with a salary range of $109,383 to $142,199, and may include salary offset and expedited pre-employment processing.

You will be part of a mission to protect America's borders and enforce immigration laws. Applicants must meet citizenship and language requirements, pass background checks, and comply with firearms and pre-employment conditions.

Qualifications

• This position has an Individual Occupational Requirement: Specialized Experience in law enforcement or other responsible work that demonstrated the ability to: Make arrests and exercise sound judgment in the use of firearms; deal effectively with individuals or groups of persons in a courteous, tactful manner in connection with law enforcement matters; analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions or take prompt and appropriate law enforcement action in light of applicable laws, court decisions, and sound law enforcement procedures.
• Language Requirement: Must be proficient in the Spanish language.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question persons suspected of immigration and customs violations and inspect documents.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and various assets.
• Patrol the international boundary and perform related checks in various duty locations.
