Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) – Border Patrol is seeking qualified individuals for a term Border Patrol Agent position across multiple USBP Sectors. The posted salary ranges from $109,383 to $142,199 (GS-13). Reemployed annuitants may receive a salary offset waiver.

Duties include preventing illegal entry, enforcing immigration and customs laws, and apprehending smugglers. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, pass a background check, and meet language and firearm requirements.

Qualifications

• Specialized Experience in law enforcement or equivalent.
• Ability to interpret and enforce immigration or related laws.

Responsibilities

• Prevent illegal entry of aliens at borders by patrol and enforcement.
• Detect and question persons suspected of immigration and customs violations.
• Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Patrol borders and waterways using Government assets.
