Distinct is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper in Miami to maintain accurate books for a small family-run CPA practice. You will handle bookkeeping, gather client information, and ensure readiness for the tax team, with regular client contact.
We’re looking for 5+ years of bookkeeping in Public Accounting, strong QuickBooks skills, and familiarity with UltraTax. The firm offers health insurance, a SIMPLE IRA, and bonuses after tax season with growth opportunities toward EA or CPA exams.
Some people want a huge office, a complicated org chart and twelve layers of management.
Some people would much rather work somewhere everyone knows who they are.
This is that kind of firm.
It’s a small, family run CPA practice with a close team, long standing clients and a culture built around trust. There are no billable hour targets, no feeling of disappearing into the background, and no expectation that work should take over your life.
The flexibility is refreshingly simple too. If you work hard, support the team and get things done, they will give that same flexibility back when you need it. Family commitments, appointments, life admin, all the normal things that come with being an actual person.
The firm is also entering a new chapter, with the founding Partner gradually stepping back and her son taking more responsibility for the business. That makes this a great time to join, because this person will become a key part of how the office runs moving forward.
You will be one of the go to people in the firm, keeping QuickBooks accurate, handling bookkeeping and admin, gathering information from clients and making sure everything is in good shape before it reaches the tax team.
You will also have plenty of client contact, so this is not a role where you quietly process work in the background all day.
They are looking for someone with 5+ years of bookkeeping experience within Public Accounting and strong QuickBooks knowledge. UltraTax experience would be a big plus.
The salary is $65,000 to $70,000.
There is room to grow too. If you want to work towards your EA or CPA, the firm can support education costs, and over time there is the opportunity to move further into tax, take on more responsibility and potentially participate in profit share.
If you like the idea of working somewhere your contribution is noticed, your opinion matters and clients actually know your name, this could be a very good fit.
