Job summary

The Missouri Division of Fire Safety / Office of the State Fire Marshal seeks a Senior Safety Inspector for the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Unit to perform inspections, calculations, and reporting across designated counties in Missouri.

Applicants must reside in Butler, Stoddard, Wayne, Carter or Ripley Counties (or obtain approval); US citizenship, clean record, and strong public relations skills are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate high school or equivalent with three years in boiler/pressure vessel field or related experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and of good moral character.
• Must obtain Missouri Boiler/Pressure Vessel commission within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct boiler/pressure vessel inspections in assigned counties.
• Perform engineering calculations and issue recommendations for unsafe conditions.
• Prepare inspection reports in a web-based system describing conditions and recommendations.
• Conduct accident investigations related to boilers/pressure vessels and prepare reports.
