Job summary

Contechs Consulting Limited seeks a Body Systems Injection Molding Engineer in Troy, Michigan. You will own the full lifecycle of body-system components from tooling concept to production and quality assurance in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include mold design reviews, tooling management, process development with scientific molding, and leading PPAP and control plans to ensure zero-escape quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related field from an ABET-accredited university.
• 5+ years hands-on injection molding engineering experience in tooling design, process development, and production support.
• Knowledge of injection mold tooling: cavities, cores, hot runner systems, cooling, and mold maintenance.
• Familiarity with DOE, SPC, PFMEA, PPAP, and capability studies.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve mold designs; manage tooling builds with suppliers and mold qualification (T1–T3).
• Develop, validate, and document injection molding processes using scientific molding practices.
• Manage all aspects of injection-molded components to meet program requirements (dimensional, sealing, cost, mass, cycle time).
• Lead PPAP submissions and develop control plans; drive root-cause analysis on defects and corrective actions.
