Job summary

Vanliner Insurance Company is seeking a Senior Claims Rep to join the Richfield, Ohio team on a hybrid schedule. The role requires strong claims handling expertise and the ability to negotiate settlements within authority, with on-site four days per week and one day remote.

Required are a Bachelor’s degree in business-related fields and at least 5 years in property and casualty claims, plus pursuit toward AIC or similar designation. Salary ranges are provided and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of property and casualty claims handling.
• Progress toward a professional designation such as AIC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of claims to evaluate compensability/liability.
• Plans and conducts investigations to confirm coverage, liability and damages.
• Determines and negotiates settlements within authority; may attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Conveys complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• Authorizes payments within assigned authority limits and ensures timely payments.
• Maintains detailed claim files and correspondence.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
