Job summary

California Community Foundation is seeking a Senior Stakeholder Affairs Officer in Los Angeles to lead Board governance and executive stakeholder engagement. You will oversee board administration, committees, and governance processes while collaborating with executive leadership and General Counsel.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, strategic planning, and cross-functional coordination to drive governance excellence across the organization. In-office work five days a week is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree, paralegal training, or governance credential preferred.
  • Five to seven years of governance-related experience.
  • Experience supporting a Board of Directors and Committees in nonprofit/foundation settings preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit governance practices, bylaws, and board procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with executive-level materials.
  • Solid confidentiality with handling sensitive information.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead administration and coordination of Board of Directors and Committees.
  • Plan and coordinate Board/committee meetings and governance activities.
  • Prepare and maintain Board agendas, minutes, resolutions and records.
  • Maintain governance calendar and track actions and deadlines.
  • Partner with leadership and General Counsel to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate Board onboarding and governance resources.
  • Support stakeholder affairs through research and project management.
  • Prepare executive briefings and background materials for leadership.
