Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group seeks a BMS Engineer/Consultant-IV for our Chicago or Richmond offices to coordinate instrumentation and controls across Aviation, Critical Facilities, Financial, Healthcare, and other markets. Travel to sites across the US may be required.

You will collaborate with the national ICT/BMS team to grow local Syska services, develop designs, write specifications, perform design calculations, and interface with clients and contractors while advancing smart, sustainable building

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering; exceptional candidates may substitute significant years of on-site experience in large BMS/EPMS/DCIM/SCADA projects.
• 4 - 7 years experience in Controls and Instrumentation as Engineer/Consultant/Contractor or client facility manager.
• Thorough knowledge of HVAC/electrical instrumentation design and building control sequence of operations.
• Knowledge of building IT/OT infrastructure and low-voltage tech including security, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
• Understanding of smart building tech convergence and IT/OT network integration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare BMS drawings, sequencing of operations, and specifications; perform system design calculations.
• Assist in selecting equipment for building systems and writing reports.
• Assist clients in vendor leveling/selection/procurement of best-of-breed solutions.
• Attend project meetings interfacing with clients and contractors.
• Interface with internal PICs, PMs, site leaders, and practice area leaders.
• Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing project design teams.
• Collaborate with Senior Engineer to manage quality control and resource management.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date BMS processes and standards.
• Represent Syska Hennessy Group with clients and external consultants.
