Job summary
Dorleco in Auburn Hills, MI seeks an experienced automotive software engineer to lead end-to-end validation of BMS and propulsion systems. You will drive HIL automation using dSPACE, INCA, CANoe, CANalyzer, ControlDesk, and PROVEtech, while leveraging MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and script development.
The role requires applying DFMEA-based planning, requirements analysis, and functional safety/cybersecurity considerations per ISO 26262 and ISO 21434.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical or Computer Engineering or closely related field.
- 5+ years of automotive domain experience.
- Experience in software systems engineering for automotive/energy storage.
- Hands-on battery systems, BMS calibration/validation, propulsion/vehicle testing, modeling & simulation.
- Experience with HIL systems (dSPACE) and validation tools (INCA, CANoe, CANalyzer, ControlDesk, PROVEtech).
- Experience in requirements analysis, DVPI development, test case creation, DFMEA-based planning, root-cause analysis, and functional safety/cybersecurity (ISO 26262 & ISO 21434).
- Ability to work with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end activities in automotive software validation (BMS focus).
- Develop DVPs and HIL validation strategies.
- Automate parameter extraction and testing workflows.
- Analyze CAN and field data for root-cause identification.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 and ISO 21434.
- Validate Powertrain and battery behavior features.
- Improve efficiency and repeatability of builds and reports.
