Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field (required).
• 3–5 years of clinical laboratory experience (preferred).
• ASCP MLS/CLS certification (required).
• Certifications after Jan 1, 2004 must renew every 3 years via maintenance program.
• Advanced certification in a laboratory specialty must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workflow of the Blood Bank including pre-transfusion testing, antibody identification, crossmatching, and blood product preparation.
• Ensure testing and processes comply with SOPs and regulatory standards (AABB, CAP, CLIA, FDA).
• Provide technical guidance for complex serological cases and transfusion reactions.
• Maintain and update SOPs and ensure staff compliance.
• Supervise and schedule Blood Bank personnel; assist with hiring and performance evaluations.
